J&K Students Association was launched in the year 2016 across the country. It is registered Students Body and country’s largest network of students belonging to Jammu and Kashmir union territory. This association intended to lead discussions on issues including education reform, employment, safeguarding, safety, security and empowerment. The aim of this association is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students & has been at the forefront of all struggles for student rights as well as larger democratic issues. This organization rose to prominence whilst leading the student rescue operation in the year 2019 when racist and sectarian violence errupted against Kashmiri students as in Indian cities as revenge following militant attack in Pulwama, Kashmir Hundreds of kashmiri students were thrashed by rightwing men and kicked out by landlords across the country. This association was on forefront in evacuating thousands of Kashmiri students to safety by providing them food, stock, accomdation, and transport facilities to make way to their homes in Coordination with JK Govt and central Government.
It was formed by a group of highly trained, dedicated, like – minded professionals with considerable work experience in the field of Education, Environment, Youth Empowerment, Livelihood Programmes, Information Technology, Vocational Training, Health, ST/OBC’s, Child &Youth Rights, Skill Development etc. We coordinate the socioeconomic, cultural and educational development in rural and Youth areas. We focus is on the rights of India’s most marginalized communities: Youth, OBC’s and the indigenous, rural and urban poor, Youth, Youth and minorities. These groups face an acute lack of access to and control over resources, services, and institutions. We have a great deal of experience in the field of learning and are committed to improving the current education system through the spread of quality and improvised education in rural and Youth areas of J&K..
We have served 8100 plus students through our services besides promoting, encouraging & exploring their talents and by imparting skill development trainings to 460 plus youth from underprivileged communities. We recognize that for young minds to be shaped right. The wide range of activities gives target community the much wanted break while ensuring their all round development. The core fields/thrust area of JKSA include Education Sector.
Jammu and Kashmir students association (Hereafter JKSA) has organized various career counseling programs and online interactions with various stakeholders. JKSA has also actively collaborated with government agencies and made ample use of state machinery to help students in times of need; be it ensuring their social security, financial stability or helping them inch closer in realizing their dreams. The aim of JKSA is largely to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of the students.
